“It’s been a tricky start to the season with numerous injuries and other causes of non-availability, contributing to a less than desirable set of results so far.

 We in selection are committed to a plan to produce a more youthful first team that is designed to bring long term success in future seasons, not necessarily this season. Indeed a couple of seasons building this ideal may well be preferable to “yo-yo” seasons until we achieve our aim.

However the lack of availability so far means that some players who see themselves as second teamers may be called upon to help out in the firsts. This is no different to any other season and we ask ALL players to take this on board and give 100% support to whichever team they are selected for.

We would remind players to please, please, please make it known on the availability board when they are not available.”
