Update from our Chairman

Good morning everyone

I sincerely hope everyone receives this email in good health and safety.

Following advice from our County Cricket Board and with scenes depicted nationwide over the weekend regarding non compliance of social distancing, I am writing to confirm Newton Cricket Club’s stance on the matter.

The Clubhouse will not be open until further notice to any member unless he or she is there for urgent maintenance or with the express approval of Club Management. If entry is required under the above parameters then strict observation to social distancing (2 metres apart) must be observed at all times.

We are proud of our position within the local community and therefore we must lead by example to prevent further spreading of this insidious virus.

As we have previously been informed, there is no prospect of cricket until at least the end of May 2020 so we will have to rearrange the Workday scheduled for April 4th to to a date when it will be deemed safe to gather.

All practice and other gathering at the club is also not permitted unless you can observe social distancing.

Although the limitations mentioned are upsetting and the delay to the season is distressing we all have to look after each other and make sure that we are all here to resume this wonderful game at our fantastic club when that time comes.

In the meantime if anyone has any concerns or further clarification or just needs to chat, I am always available. I will, of course, update you all as often as I can.

Take care and keep safe

Keith
