A message from our President Phil Cheetham..

Several years ago, our then Chairman Keith Johnson proposed that Newton CC adopt a charity partner, so we could have the opportunity to give something back to the community.

The charity we decided on was the Christie Cancer Trust as our past Presidents Craig Arrowsmith and past Chairman Brian Johnson were both treated there..

After various events were staged, we were able to present Christies with a donation of £1189

We were then looking for a new partner and through Mark and Charlie Barnard we came to know the Jackson family and the story of Tommy's struggles with ill health.

As you can see from the photographs (above) Tommy asked that any monies raised should go to the Manchester Children’s Hospital (Teenage Cancer Unit).

On behalf of Newton CC, Neil (Tommy’s Dad) presented a donation of £1089 to the teenage cancer unit.

The monies raised have been donated by our members and friends at our annual Presidents Day, Various individual donations and also from players at our annual Charity golf days.

Can I thank everyone who has generously given to our charities..

We are now on in discussions to locate another community charity in our area

Once again Thank you

Phil Cheetham
