Ladies Team – Newton Cricket Club

In 2024, Newton Cricket Club launched a ladies’ cricket team for the first time in the club’s history. Since then, we’ve completed two winter indoor seasons and are now heading into our second outdoor season. What started with around 10 ladies has grown into a brilliant squad of 22 — and we’re delighted to have welcomed even more new players again this year.
The Newton Novas will compete in Division Three of the Derbyshire & Cheshire Cricket Ladies Softball League this season.

We train on Friday evenings from 7–8pm at the club and are always looking for new players. As a still‑developing team, we’re learning together and welcome ladies and girls aged 13+ of all abilities.

At Newton Cricket Club, our ladies’ team isn’t just about cricket — it’s about being part of a welcoming, supportive group. Alongside training and matches, we enjoy spending time together off the pitch, whether that’s a casual get‑together, a night out, or simply staying for a drink after training. Our “Fizzy Fridays” have become a relaxed end‑of‑week routine, giving everyone a chance to chat, unwind, and get to know each other better. It’s a team where you can build skills, make connections, and feel part of something genuine.
